New release: RADIO DRIFT single

<dude> What if we’re all just, like, a bunch of radio waves?</dude>

Hey there, it's nice to write to you again. I’ve been meaning to send the Music, Ideas and Rest newsletter #3 for too long now (and that will come later), but I today have something else.

📻 My new single “Radio Drift” is waiting for you on Bandcamp. Click to listen.

If you enjoyed Primordial – that brooding, philosophical glide around a fantasy tower on Haida Gwaii's beaches – well, the piano-and-biosphere goodness continues here. This time, I've orchestrated the upright piano against unlikely studio instruments gathered from the outdoors and the ether. Mmm, sweet, sweet ether… it holds multitudes.

Okay, I want to tell you a few more things, so let me take myself on a short Q+A.

No one: What about the album you keep talking about?

Me: This track brings us one step closer to a full album that I still plan to release this year. The delays will be worth it.

How can I support that project?

Thank you for asking! Two simple things:

  1. Think about the one in your life who loves music and being in nature, then forward them this email and say something like “This made me think of you!” Which is both kind, and, it did.

  2. Purchase the track at any price (but please stream for free regardless).

Also, this is Bandcamp Friday, which means 100% of today’s purchases go to hard-working artists. (Normally we get somewhere near 80%.)

Read any good books lately?

You know it. The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson. Sci-fi related to potential climate scenarios in the near future. Tragedy and hope – too much hope to be a dystopia.

Anyway, how are you? (I’m pandemic-fine, thanks.) I hope this track brings you a little joy and maybe even rest.

-David
